Acumatica ERP Governance and VAR Oversight

ERP work is invisible. Governance is how you see it.

There is no hardware to point at. Decisions keep getting reopened. SOPs die in review. Nobody can say what was delivered. We fix that first, because nothing else sticks until it is.

The decision committee

One client's decisions were being relitigated because nobody held decision rights and every call needed unanimous consent. A committee was seated and adopted disagree-and-commit. It delivered five rulings in its first session, including a costing question that had stopped the whole procurement thread. The weekly agenda has two parts: rulings needed, then a ranked list of bundled initiatives. Leadership ranks bundles, not tickets.

The governance starter kit

Eighteen artifacts a mid-market company never gets from its VAR: risk assessment, policy framework, operating model, priority rubric, ROI wins register, systems inventory, access matrix, onboarding and offboarding checklists, software evaluation scorecard, shadow spreadsheet map, security questionnaire, business continuity baseline, training tracker, KPI scorecard and VAR evaluation scorecard.

SOPs that get signed

Signed SOPs are the only tangible proof of ERP progress. Our rule: no feedback in five days is approval. Every unsigned SOP is listed every week until it is signed, redlined or has a stated reason to wait. SOPs are written by the people who configured the screens and tested against a real order.

Security roles and access

We found more than 150 security roles against roughly half that headcount, with duplicates causing live access failures, and built the case for fixing it on controls grounds. SSO and MFA documented for your MSP to execute. An access-request form and a quarterly user reconciliation.

Partner oversight and second opinions

An independent review of whether your VAR is delivering. We speak their language and yours. Licence right-sizing. A keep or retire verdict on every customization. The difference between "on schedule" and "on track."

Software selection without commission

A ticketing platform evaluated and rejected after the vendor confirmed it had no intake workflow and none planned. A document-control tool benchmarked against the native module on a scorecard. Native first, workaround second, customization last.

How AI helps

The weekly committee agenda is assembled from the inbox, the tracker and the logs. The decisions log is searchable, so nobody relitigates what was settled in March.

Twenty minutes. No deck. No pitch.
